What is a Job Seeker Visa in Portugal?

It is a type of visa that allows foreign nationals to stay in Portugal for 120 days and look for job opportunities there. Applicants can also extend/renew it for another 60 days after the 120 days. Applicants who want to get this visa must have to fulfill the Job Seeker visa requirements and submit the documents at the Portuguese embassy.

Eligibility Criteria

Below I have provided the eligibility criteria for the Job seeker visa in Portugal 2024.

  • Foreign applicants must be non-EU nationals.
  • A candidate must have a valid passport.
  • A clean criminal record is also required for this visa.
  • Candidate must have a sufficient amount to support himself in Portugal during Job seeking which is €665 x 3 = €1995 per month. It means you have at least a minimum amount which is equivalent to the Portugal minimum wage.
  • Provide proof of onward travel or have a return ticket.
  • Having health insurance is also required to cover you for the duration of your stay in Portugal.

  • A translated (English or Portuguese) criminal record certificate issued within the last three months from your country of origin or residence.
