Types of Oman Work Visa

There are three types of Oman work visas 1) Oman Work Visa, 2) Oman Employment Contracting Visa, and 3) Oman Temporary Work Permit.

#1 Oman Work Visa:

The Oman work visa is the most common type of work visa that is issued to foreign workers at the request of the employer in Oman.

In case a foreign worker is invited by a government organization of Oman then he/she needs a labour permit from the Ministry of Manpower. It is a Multi-entry visa that is valid for 2 years.

#2 Oman Employment Contracting Visa

It is the 2nd type of visa that is especially issued to only those foreigners who need approval before starting a specific job in Oman. This is a single entry visa which is valid for 2 months only but you can renew it for one more month.

#3 Oman Temporary Work Permit

The temporary work permit is valid for a limited time period and granted only for short-term projects or specific tasks. This type of permit is valid for 4, 6, or 9 months as specified in the permit. So we can say it is a multi-entry visa which is valid according to your work permit.

Requirements of Oman Work Visa

There are the requirements for the Oman Work Visa 2024.

The applicant’s age should not be less than 21 years.
Two photographs ( 6X4 ) cm.
Copy of Passport
An employment contract.
An original copy of the medical certificate attested by the Ministry of Health (Only Nationals from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Sudan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Nepal, Ethiopia, and Syria).

How to Apply?

The process of application is usually initiated by an employer in Oman who wishes to sponsor a foreign worker. These are the steps are given below.

Step 1: The employer first needs to obtain a labor license from the Ministry of Manpower.

Step 2: Once you have secured your Labor License then you can send a job offer letter to the potential employee.

Step 3: After the job offer is in your hands, then you can apply for an employment visa through the Royal Oman Police’s online portal.

Step 4: Your employer in Oman will typically handle the application process on your behalf.

Step 5: Upon successful visa issuance you may enter Oman and apply for a residence card within 30 days of arrival. this card is necessary to work legally in Oman.
